John Barton’s “A History of the Bible” is the summation of a lifetime of scholarship and faith by the former Professor of Interpretation of Holy Scripture at Oxford University. In this seminar, the fourth in a series of six, three lively Anglican churchmen in Monmouthshire discuss the remarkable scholarship in Barton’s book and their own reactions to the inconsistencies and challenges in reading the Bible. They invite questions from the audience. The seminars are held in St. Mary’s Priory in Monmouth and are available online to allow those affected by Covid-19 restrictions to take part.
